You know, normally I'd agree with you. But there are some players that can hit seemingly anything, whether it's a strike or not. Vladimir Guerrero comes to mind. Granted, he draws more walks, but in terms of selectivity, he's about as extreme as they come. And he's done pretty well for himself.

Perhaps Jeffy can turn into an annual all-star, however, that 68 to 7 K/BB ratio is beyond bad. If I'm an opposing coach, I'm telling my pitcher to throw it so far out of the hitting zone there is no way he can hit it. Just try to walk him. Until that ratio improves somewhat, I'm skeptical about his long term fortunes.

Thanks, Fernando. The key with Kearns, as it has been so far in his career, is staying healthy. Having said that, I just love the all-around talents that Francoeur brings to the table. Do I prefer him as a fantasy commodity? Tough call. But I can't wait to see him as a ballplayer when he's fully matured.

Rob - Congrats on the set up of the new site. I agree with the comment about Kearns. I see him emerging as a solid 30/100 hitter going forward. I take him straight up right now over Francoeur, Gomes or Granderson. I'm not sure I would have said that before the season.
