Thanks for the update, Jenny. I hadn't heard that news, but yes, it's quite strange that it happened the day after my article. I hope Jennings lands somewhere else as well, and please keep me posted if you hear of something.

Cheers

Strange... a day after this was published, Jennings was "released" from the Columbus Clippers. I am completely bummed... I really enjoyed watching him play in Columbus... he was hitting like crazy.

I am wondering if he voluntarily left or was forced out. I hope that he didn't think that his time in Columbus was trivial and decided to call it quits (again). He is a very valuable player, and I think that any team should be happy to have him playing.

I think Robin's story is a wonderful example of many professional baseball players. Too many players fade out with little recognition and respect; they are placed in the shadows of creeps like Barry Bonds and the many spoiled players of the Yankees dynasty.

Baseball is not about them... those players are about celebrity and stats. Baseball is about players like Jennings - players that devote their lives to playing because they love it, no matter if they are playing for the top team in their ML division or a little AAA team in Columbus.

Wherever Jennings is now, I hope he realizes that he has not been forgotten, and in my book, is not part of the "whatever happened to..." bunch, but "what is happening to..." bunch.
