RotoRob Turns One

June 28, 2007 | by RotoRob | Comments (0)
RotoRob is one year old today.
We’re number one! Well…we’re one year old, at any rate.

Today marks the one year anniversary of RotoRob.com. While we bandied about several ideas for ways to celebrate the milestone, I thought I’d just keep it low key and acknowledge the hard work of the team in making this a significant event.

So thanks are in order for:

Tim E., for his great design work and overall belief that the site will one day afford me to live in a lawnchair, being hand-fed Twinkies by scantilly-clad 18-year-old girls (or, failing that, actually make a few cents); the RotoWidow, for her constant support, occasional witticisms on the site and maintenance of the operation from behind the scenes; Mike, for his hockey brilliance; Andy, for his flexibility and pigskin knowledge; James, for his fantasy insights and his flow of ideas; Derek, for providing a football Ying to Andy’s Yan; and Tim M., for his Eastern influences and endless nuggets of information.

And of course, thanks to all our readers for making this site grow way bigger and faster than my little brain could have conceived.

Now, back to our regular programming…

When Andy and Derek aren’t looking, I’ll sneak in the occasional football article to hone my skills. Please don’t tell them. Today, I want to look at [...] more

Pacman Jones Faces More Legal Trouble

June 26, 2007 | by RotoRob | Comments (2)
Perhaps if the NFL cracked down on the teams that employ thugs, we’d see more teams cutting their losses like the Bears did with Tank Johnson Monday. Young lawyers must dream of landing that one plum account that will set them up for life. Coke, Nike, Microsoft’Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones. Yup, the troubled young Titan cornerback, already suspended [...] more

NHL 2007 Draft Review: Winners and Losers

June 25, 2007 | by RotoRob | Comments (0)
Grabbing Patrick Kane first overall was just the start of a superb draft by Chicago. By Rob Reath WINNERS Chicago Blackhawks Securing Patrick Kane with the first pick took no special talent, but picking three of my own recommended sleepers did. Any team that can walk away with Kane, Bill Sweatt, Akim Aliu and Maxime Tanguay, can also give [...] more

Philadelphia Flyers Draft Review

June 24, 2007 | by RotoRob | Comments (0)
The Flyers surprised many when they selected Garrett Klotz in the third round, but perhaps they were attracted by his ability to rub out referees. By Rob Reath Editor’s note: Special thanks to draft expert Rob Reath for supplying us with his analysis of the Philadelphia Flyers’ picks from this weekend’s draft. Rob will be back tomorrow [...] more
