That's interesting Tim. I need to jump into a few mock drafts to see how things shake down, especially in deep leagues. I know the tread is usually to wait on pitching, but there comes a point where you need to buck the trend and try something new. I'm an offense guy as much but pitching count for half your points last time a check. It might be good to weave in a few pitchers and stock up on weak offensive positions early like 2B and catcher.

Good point, Tim. And it's perfectly timed with the RotoRob pre-season starting pitcher rankings coming out shortly. Stay tuned!

I totally agree Todd. To be able to answer some of those "what if's" is a huge bonus that even a relatively few short years ago was unavailable. That, and the ability to feel comfortable with the whole draft process that only practice and time allows for. This year already I'm seeing some suprising early trends, especially in starting pitching that I find most interesting. Starting pitching is falling as more and more teams load up on offense early and those midrounds are becoming a total free-for-all. It's still very early, but there could be the potential for some very solid bargains in starting pitching in 2008.

I like to use a mock draft to see how I react to trends. Do I grab the top catcher or get in on the run of third baseman. You never no what you'll do until you're in the heat of the moment. I also like to try some different stratagies. A few years ago I played against type and drafted pitching early. It was an exceptionally strong year for pitcher and while I had 4 studs, my offense sucked big time. When in came time to draft in my league I didn't stick with the pitching first stratagy and found plenty left in the later rounds.
