In keeper leagues I think keeping an eye on the happenings in Japan is a must, much like keeping track of the minor leagues has been. In the past I’ve done very well in identifying and keeping young players, but have fallen down on keeping track of Japan. I hope Tim keeps updating us on the happening of the top players there throughout this season.

I think all fans of the game should have Darvish on there watch list, with Beijing this summer being a great opportunity for all of us to witness some truly great talent. Predicting the flow of players to MLB is a very difficult task and 5 years would be next to impossible with the current free agency and posting limitations. The one young bat that should be on everyones radar is outfielder Norichika Aoki. He has just completed his 3′rd year and already has 2 batting titles under his belt. Great speed, batting average and solid developing power. He has already expressed an interest in making a move to MLB through the posting system. Yakult has posted both Kaz Ishii and Aki Iwarmura in the past so the possibility of a posting down the road can not be ruled out.

Hey Tim are you going to do a report on some of the top hitters in Japan that might be moving on the MLB in the next 5 years? I loved this report though. I think I’ll keep Darvish on my to watch list.
