How did I know this one was coming Dave, and deservedly so. We all have our crosses to bear, and Zito is a rather huge one with me, not quite Scott Bakeresque, but close. The quote, "desperate times, desperate measures" pretty well sums that one up from my perspective. I'm actually surprised you went that easy on me, as I certainly did present a rather large bullseye for you to aim at. You finally getting over the Favre trade?

Re: Zito

That had to be the most half-hearted, qualified, I know I'm going to hear about this one recommendation I have ever heard. Admit it, you've been burned too many times in the past and can't really believe you're writing that.
BTW, Bengie had 5 RBI today. Just thought I'd bring that to your attention.

You've got to draw the line with winning. The top candidate in the AL Cy race this year is a pitcher that last year at this time was at Triple-A and for the most part went undrafted in most formats this past spring. Pitching is such a crap shoot and I'm certainly not advocating that Pavano is the next Cliff Lee, but in AL-only formats, pitching for the Yankees he's got to be worth at least a look-see.

I could be one win away from a championship and I still wouldn't sign Carl Pavano just out of principle. You gotta draw the line somewhere.
