Don’t blame Mike for that; I added that bit after we had support for McCabe in a separate post. As a lifelong resident of Toronto, I feel I am definitely in a position to comment on those Leaf fans. But I will concede that several Toronto fans I’ve spoken to lately do actually seem resigned to the fact that the team will suck this year. I guess we’re looking at another April where — gasp — we won’t be forced to endure gridlock at every major intersection after the Leafs win ONE first-round game.

As a Leaf fan, I took some offense to your comment about “crazed Leaf fans”. Believe me, any Leaf fan who has defended McCabe in the past three years was definitely crazed (and probably not an actual Leaf fan).
