I am a self confessed fantasy baseball fanatic. I usually scour the magazines racks for fantasy baseball guides around this time of the year but I never could find the Fantasy Baseball Magazine where I live in Canada (I usually get a second rate mag with which I am usually totally unimpressed)
Imagine my joy to find this page and find out where to purchase it!
For anyone in Canada looking for this just check out Chapters book store (there should be an outlet in every province).
If they don’t have it in the store they can order it for you.

Sorry Tony, that I can’t be of much help. The mag is out there. I hear most every day from people who find it. Our usual big outlets are Wal Mart and Barnes and Noble, but it can also be found in other places, too. And it doesn’t seem to make it into every Wal Mart or B&N, or else they’ve sold out.

Unfortunately, because I know there is demand out there, the publisher doesn’t offer a mail order service.

Can you tell me where in Texas (Dallas area) I can find this year’s copy? Wal-Mart has always carried it in the past, but I couldn’tfind it there yesterday? Or is there a website I can order it from via mail? I need a copy badly.

The good news is that we don’t have a feature called Future Stars on page 10 in the Fantasy Guide 2009, and nothing about Gordon Beckham or Tim Beckham in the magazine, both of whom are too far away to be concerned about this year. Unless you’re playing in a forever keeper league. Then Tim is worth a shot.

Don’t know what idiots at some other magazine made such a mistake, but I can promise you that given the short schedule, the limited resources, and the natural order of things (everything put together sooner or later falls apart), I will some day make a worser gaffe.

I just picked up the magazine and noticed under the “Future Stars” secion on page 10 that it says Gordon Beckham was drafted 8th by the Tampa Bay Rays. Gordon Beckham was drafted 8th by the Chicago White Sox. Tim Beckham was selected first by the Tampa Bay Rays. Gotta love the proof reading!

I was heading to the hospital yesterday for a wonderful procedure called “Septoplasty” (Pass on the Google image if your having one done)

Didn’t feel like lugging my laptop to surgery, so on the way there I made the wife stop at Chapters Book Store.

Much to my chagrin a fresh copy of the Fantasy Baseball Guide 2009 Professional Edition was in stock!

Really helped pass the time, during an otherwise miserable day. Highly recommend this one – 160 pages of stats and keen insights baby!

And I live in the Canada eh, so it should be available just aboot everywhere – RIGHT NOW.
