Are You Ready for Some Baseball?

You can hump your wife’s BFF and incur her wrath, or you can play fantasy baseball. Seems like an easy call.

With baseball season just around the corner, now’s a great time to remind our readers that Draftbug, the site where you can play alternative forms of fantasy sports, is offering 4,000 free player points (that’s $4) if you sign up before the end of March. Want to save those points until baseball season starts? No freaking problem, my friends.

You need to monitor Draftbug often, as the site is constantly offering freerolls, and those puppies fill up quickly, way to quick for us to update you on them.

Speaking of baseball, last Sunday, Draftbug posted its first baseball contest. It’s a $100 freeroll contest, with spots for 200 people, so you better act quick, as spots are filling rapidly, with 84 people signed up already at last check. This is a slightly different format than usual (as most Draftbug contests run only one day): you pick 10 hitters within a salary cap and score points only for home runs through the end of April. How’s that for an interesting twist? Anyways, the top 20 places will win cash prizes, with first place taking home a cool $24 (that’ll buy you a couple of brewskies). Remember, registration for both the site and the contest are free.

Go check out the $100 April Home Run Derby freeroll on Draftbug now! Well, alright, wait for a commercial break in your March Madness viewing.

The site has also opened up some other April Home Run derby contests, with entry fees of $1, $5, and $11. Over the next few days, Draftbug will begin adding “normal” contests for Opening Day.
