Frosty,

This was a poorly played hand by both parties. If you're careless enough to let the info get out that you inquired about Matt Cassel, then this can happen. It turned into a rookie error by McDaniels. In the same regard, Cutler showed his immaturity again. His last name isn't Elway. So, if the team tries to trade him, he shouldn't whine and moan about it. Ultimately, it may be a lose-lose situation for both parties.

[...] RotoRob added an interesting post today on Transactional Analysis: Cutler to ChicagoHere’s a small readingWill Jay Cutler (left) fit in with Chicago’s conservative offense or are the Bears ready to change their gameplan? The Jay Cutler era in Denver is kaput. Chicago delivered quarterback Kyle Orton , two first round picks (’09 and ‘10) and a 2009 third round pick to the Broncos in exchange for Cutler and a fifth round pick in the upcoming draft. What does this do for the Bears? It could give them a legitimate quarterback for the first time since Jim Harbaugh back in the early ’90s (gulp). [...]
