The 2010 Fantasy Baseball Guide

January 15, 2010 | By RotoRob | comment on this post

For the sixth straight year, RotoRob and our writers were involved in the creation of Rotoman’s superb publication, the Fantasy Baseball Guide. The 2010 edition includes profiles of 1,400 players – over 500 of which (all pitchers) were written by yours truly. You can imagine how I spent my October…and a good chunk of my November as well.

Imagine being naked in front of your grandmother. That’s the feeling you’ll have if you go to your draft this spring without the 2010 Fantasy Baseball Guide in tow. For over half the time this magazine has been being published I’ve been involved with it because I believe it’s the best product available.

But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself why you need to pick up this book:

  • Winning strategies – get tips from the experts who won their leagues
  • Rookies – who should you target this season?
  • An NFBC-style mock draft will prep you for your own draft
  • Who to target and who to avoid – the experts offer you over 300 picks and pans for 2010
  • The ever-popular and must-have cheat sheets

You can find the 2010 Fantasy Baseball Guide at Barnes and Noble, Walmart and many other places magazines are sold. It will officially be released on January 19, but should start popping up in various locales (like, strangely, Fort Frances, Ontario) this week.

What’s the price my man? Also where can I get it online/delivered to my house? I’m too busy eating cheese to go to a newstand.

  2. RotoRob says:

The cover price is $7.99 in the US…not sure in Canada. I will ask Rotoman if it can be delivered, as I’m not sure what the dealio is there.

And yes, eating cheese is important. I take it you eat entire wheels of cheese?

  3. RotoRob says:

Hey man…got some more info on that for you. Unfortunately, there is currently no direct mail system in place, so you’ll have to venture to the store to get one. But hey, that’s why there are cheese strings — they’re portable!

  4. Morat says:

I went out to buy more cheese today and also stopped by 4 newsstands. How many porno, wrestling and racing magazines does one need? I didn’t know that Cheri was still in print. Anyway, one store actually had four fantasy mags but sadly no Guide. Lindy’s, Fanball, Yahoo & some Beckett thing all sucked. I’ll wait another week for Rotoworld to come out also and then I’ll head to a Barnes & Noble in the city for the Guide as well. Thanks for your help dude.

PS – cheese in a tube rocks too

  5. RotoRob says:

Ha ha….I can’t believe they still bother to print porn mags. That’s just crazy! I saw the guide at a magazine shop downtown yesterday, so I definitely know it’s out.

Cheese in a tube? I know about cheese in a can, but cheese in a tube?

  6. Aaron Marks says:

I checked out the fantasy guide in a Barnes and Noble here in New York. Great stuff. Even the muggers want it…lol.Tell Tim i have a 2 word question for him…Uriah Heep????….Keep up the good work.

  7. RotoRob says:

Thanks, Aaron. Glad you like it, and do make sure to protect yourself against getting mugged.

As for Tim, well, there’s no accounting for tastes. I mean, hey, I love Uriah Heep as much as the next guy, but have also discovered that music continued past 1975.

  8. Tim McLeod says:

Sweet Lorraine can let the party carry on forever in this household! Thanks for the feedback Aaron! I’m glad you enjoyed the read and given enough time I’m sure I can convert you to the “Heep” fanclub.

  9. RotoRob says:

You should know, Aaron, that conversion to this club involves eating copious amount of gummy bears and other deviant behaviour.

  10. Morat says:

Which Barnes & Noble in NYC? Please tell. I will go there ASAP. Deviant behavior? I can tell you where to get some good porno mags and cheese.

  11. RotoRob says:

    Hey Morat,

I’ll check with RotoMan and see if I can find out.

They still MAKE porno mags? What’s the point? As for the cheese, hey, I’m down with that.

  12. Rotoman says:

I think all the B+Ns in NY had them, but at this point I don’t know. My local (Park Slope Brooklyn) is now sold out. I don’t know of any cheese shops that stock it, though while we’re in production we go through lots of good NY and New England cheeses.

Sorry I can’t be more help. They’re certainly out there, but the distributor doesn’t make it easy knowing exactly where.

    Cheers,
    Peter

  13. Morat says:

Hey I finally got the magazine at Target (in Whitestone) of all places. The had like 5-6 fantasy baseball magazines. Plenty in stock. I guess no one goes to Target for magazines? I know where to go next year. The mag rocks, love it, good stuff dude!

  14. RotoRob says:

Perfect! Glad you like it…thanks, man!

    Good luck at your draft.

    Cheers
