Dear RotoRob: Week 11 FLEX Help

November 20, 2010 | By RotoRob | comment on this post
Mario Manningham stepped up for the New York Giants.
Mario Manningham has a tough matchup Sunday, but is still a steady FLEX option.

Dear RotoRob,

Re: Playoff bound? Thanks to you…

You sir, have been a God send with your advice. I have a question about this week…which two FLEX guys would you start in a 0.5 PPR league:

Mario Manningham @PHI
Brandon Jackson @MIN
Mike Williams (SEA) @NO
Mike Thomas v. CLE

My other starters are Kyle Orton, Adrian Peterson, Brandon Lloyd and LeGarrette Blount.

Again, thank you for the help.

Eddie

Hi Eddie,

At its heart, Fantasy football is all about opportunities — you want the guys that are going to have a lot of chances to help you. Because of that, Jackson is definitely one of your picks, even in what could be a tough matchup on the road. Bottom line, Jackson is going to get in the neighborhood of 15 touches and that means he’s got a chance to make an impact. Plus, he accounted for 104 yards and a touchdown vs. Minny in Week Seven.

Of the wideouts, it’s got to be Manningham with Steve Smith (pec) down. Thomas’s numbers are helped incredibly by that Hail Mary, and Williams has officially replaced Devery Henderson as the reigning feast or famine guy. One week, 11-120; the next, 1-14. It’s the Fantasy equivilent of Russian roulette. To me, Manningham in a starting role is clearly a steadier option than Thomas or Williams.
