Some great comments as always, Joe. The only reason I didn't mention Harper was that he was owned in 76 per cent of the leagues playing at CBS right out of the gate. Harper had a great first campaign and I believe he could be absolutely huge in his second season. I agree that catcher got a bit deeper and with the return of both Victor Martinez and Wilson Ramos next season it will give us plenty of solid options come draft day. Pacheco had a nice little run down the stretch and it will be very interesting to see what happens in Colorado next season. Who knows, they might even get radical and let their starters go six innings. Thanks again for your comments, Joe, and I'm glad we were able to provide you that deeper look through the Troll that you were searching for. Catch you again in the spring for Year Six!

It's unbelievable that a player, Trout, that went undrafted in some leagues turns out to have some of the best all-around statistics for the season. I have to ask myself: How can I see that coming and be ready for it? (I know it could be decades for something like that to happen again.)
I think that Harper deserves an honorable mention as he went undrafted in some leagues as well. For a 19-year-old rookie, 22 homers is huge. I also think Andy Dirks should have deserved a mention if he didn't get injured and miss all that time.
I can't argue with any of the awards above. I think shortstop is especially shallow, since the top wire pick was Everth Cabrera. That position will be interesting next year. Tulo is no longer a top shortstop in my opinion. (I'd almost rather wait till the middle rounds on shortstop and then grab Rutledge in the reserve round).
Meanwhile, it seems catcher got a little deeper this year with Rosario, and returns from Posey and Salvador Perez.
One other player who was big off the wire for me was Jordan Pacheco. He was light hitting but he was eligible at 1B and 3B and he hit over .300. Probably not worthy of a mention, but he filled the holes in some lineups nicely, as did Frazier.
Thanks, Tim and RotoRob for another great season of Wire Troll columns. I enjoyed them every week. What I like most about the columns is that I find them especially useful in deep leagues and keeper leagues. I sometimes think that I've heard about every player in the majors and minors and then someone new always comes up. Great Job as always! Joe
