MLBPA chief Michael Weiner is battling a brain tumour.
MLBPA chief Michael Weiner’s brain tumour battle was honoured by the NYBBWAA.

We were back with another episode of RotoRob’s Fantasy Baseball Weekly Podcast (heard every Thursday at 9 p.m. on Blogtalkradio) and while Tim’s “smart” phone proved otherwise, thereby causing him to be late, everything else went smoothly, even if somewhat tamely.

Among the topics we descended on like seagulls on French fries:

  • The New York chapter of the BBWAA handed on its awards this week and there were some interesting names on the list.
  • Pablo Sandoval and his three-dinger explosion earned some hardware.
  • Why Bob Melvin’s appointment as the AL Manager of the Year was well deserved.
  • Buck wonders how Fernando Rodney wound up higher on some AL Cy Young ballots than David Price or Justin Verlander.
  • Breaking down the huge-ass Marlins-Jays deal and what it means to both organizations.
  • Tim talks about how Giancarlo Stanton should be downgraded heading into next year’s drafts.
