2012 Arizona Fall League Gallery 1

November 26, 2012 | By RotoRob | comment on this post

Earlier this month, Tim McLeod visited the Arizona Fall League, filing a full scouting report. The multi-talented McLeod also took some photographs — tons of them in fact. And we’re going to bring you the best of those images over the next few weeks in a series of galleries.

All photos by Tim McLeod.

Great job by Tim and staff for the AFL reports and photo galleries. It was nice to read some news about Nick Castellanos, Billy Hamilton and Anthony Rendon in the off-season. Tim’s report on Brian Goodwin especially caught my eye because I never heard of him and it sounds like he has an outsie shot of starting for the Nats if they’re able to move Morse. I’ll have to read more about him.

I wonder if Tim’s comment about the new CBA signing date will in fact change the landscape of future AFLs. That would be a shame if it does.

    Great pics too!

    Be well,
    Joe

I think the signing date will have much more of an impact on the current year’s draft picks, Joe, and in particular the pitching. In 2011 we got the opportunity to see Hultzen and Cole make their pro debuts in Arizona. This year the top three pitching picks from the 2012 draft, Gausman, Zimmer, and Fried all made their pro debut in the late summer prior to the AFL. The landscape will change somewhat but the opportunity to see some of the best young players in the game showcased will still be there. Thanks for the comments, Joe!

Hey Joe, Tim forgot to mention that there are PLENTY more AFL photo galleries still to come, so keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks. Cheers!

Thanks, I will definitely keep a look out for more pics!

Cool. In fact, we ran Gallery No. 3 yesterday and I’m about a fifth of the way from finishing up No. 4. Woo hoo!
