Davis has already dealt with health woes, missing nearly three weeks in November and December with an ankle injury and suffering a concussion earlier in the season. But when he’s played, he’s made a quick adjustment to the NBA game, flashing occasional scoring punch and improving rebounding and block numbers. The monobrowed one is already a force on the glass, and with an average of 10 boards per game over the last five, he’s only improving in that regard.

With Christmas now in the rear view mirror, we are well into the Fantasy basketball season. By now, you should have identified your strengths and weaknesses and taken steps to address those deficiencies, either through trades or the wire. The latter is where we aim to help and the key thing to track at this time of year is the injury list, because that is where you stand to gain the most by uncovering players who will benefit from a teammate’s health woes, even if it’s just on a short-term basis.

2012 RotoRob Hockey Awards

Look at who they let out of the four by six prison cell, ladies and gentlemen. The reason for our hiatus, of course, is because the 2012-13 NHL season has been “on hold” for months. When does it start? Certainly it will not be in December so the awards this year are sort of half full or half empty. This all depends on your perspective. Now is the time to kick off this year’s RotoRob hockey awards. Now go through on a sequined gown or monkey suit — whichever you look better in.
