Ya, so much for them getting rid of ‘roids, huh? We like Nick Hundley as a sleeper this year given that he’s going to get a last crack at being a No. 1 catcher in the wake of Grandal’s needlework.

Hey Tyler,

Can’t argue with anything you said, and yes, we are very high on Grandal’s long-term future. However, you hit on a key point: “If he is starting at the beginning of the year…”

We guess you’ve forgotten that Grandal will miss the first 50 games of 2013 because of a PED suspension. Otherwise, he’d be way higher on this list.

Hey guys, what are your reasons for having Yasmani Grandal so low in the rankings? I know he is young, but he played pretty well last year when healthy. I also think that with the fences moving in at Petco, he might hit 20 homers and bat near .290, I’ll take that. If he is starting at the beginning of the year I like him as a top 15 catcher. Eh?

Good luck with acquiring Perez and Rosario because I think you might have a scrap on your hands. Both are going to be very popular choices this spring.

I’m not anticipating Victor will tear it up out of the gate but I think come year end we’ll see his usual solid totals. If I was forced into either Rosario or Martinez I’d probably lean in the direction of the youthful Rosario, but wouldn’t have any problems with keeping both and using Martinez in the DH slot.

When I look at Napoli, the hip is definitely a concern as is the BA. I think 2011 was a rather huge outlier. I’d rather gamble on the upside from Rosario, Jesus Montero, and Perez at this stage of the game than go with Napoli.

I got lucky (or was it good research?) by taking a gamble on Posey in most of my leagues last year. This year I LOVE Perez and Rosario. They will be on most of my teams. I’ve got Rosario and V-Mart on my keeper teams, but V-Mart is DH-only in all my leagues. I have very little confidence in V-Mart after owning Kendrys Morales last year. Could you see Martinez having the same time of year as Morales? (Morales was ice cold for most of the year and then finally found his rhythm some time in August.)
No love for Napoli, I see. I’d rather have him over McCann or Montero. I guess we’ll have to see what shape he’s in come springtime.

Love the position rankings. I’m going to print them out at work (I’m running out of ink!) so I’ll be able to look at them anytime. Thank you!
