Proverbs Chapter One, Verse 20 states: “Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares.” Wisdom is indeed a trait to be shared and while we still may try crying from street corners we trust a written recommendation may reach a wider audience. We are not conformists to many laws but we still understand the need for guidance. So without further pontification we give up the lords of Fantasy with our Start ‘em, Sit ‘em picks for Week 12.

START ‘EM

Rashad Jennings, RB, New York Giants vs. DAL: The numbers wouldn’t suggest a great week for Jennings, but old fashion scouting does. Jennings has a style about him that will exploit the Dallas run defense. The one number that did jump out was in Dallas’ last three games, it’s given up four total touchdowns to the starting running backs. We’ll see if Jennings can handle the pigskin as well as he does a turkey (see video below).

T.Y. Hilton, WR, Indianapolis Colts vs. JAC: Facing one of the worst pass defenses in the league, Hilton is ready to forget last weekend’s loss and get back on track. Given the fact that the Colts average over 40 pass attempts a game, we think he could be a top three WR in Week 12.

Sammy Watkins, WR, Buffalo Bills vs. NYJ: The last time Watkins scored more than 20 Fantasy points was in Week Eight against the Jets when he posted a 3-157-1 line. A groin injury slowed him down for a while but now he is fully healthy again just in time for a very favourable match-up.

Steve Smith, WR, Baltimore Ravens @ NO: The Ravens are coming off a bye week and the Saints continue to struggle while losing another DB to injury last weekend. A rested Smith against a shaky pass defense equals a great Fantasy starter.

SIT ‘EM

Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots vs. DET: If you own Brady you might not even be rostering a backup. He is overachieving himself into must-start status, this we realize. But, it’s very conceivable that Brady could drop a single-digit game against a solid and very angry Lions defense. Detroit is tough against the run, so you might consider Brady as a threat to throw for 300 yards. Hold that thought; dare we say Andy Dalton (@ HOU) or Jay Cutler (vs. TB) could be better options? Brady has had a historic career, but it’s still feasible he can have a down game, that’s all we are saying.

Trent Richardson, RB, Indianapolis Colts vs. JAC: Seems like a slam-dunk, right? Richardson gets yet another chance with Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle) lost for the year. We can’t imagine you are going to bank your playoff hopes on Richardson. He hasn’t been terrible, but news that the Colts were interested in recently released and oft-injured Ben Tate (claimed by Vikings Wednesday) should be reason enough not to trust Richardson.

Denard Robinson, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars @ IND: Just because Jonas Gray punished the Colts on the ground doesn’t make Robinson a must-start. Though Robinson’s coming of age story has been one of the few highlights for the Jags this season, we think the Colts will make some major adjustments to stopping the run in practice. Stunts and player rotations will confuse and wear down the still inexperienced former QB turned RB. Also we don’t think the Jags will be holding a lead in this game past quarter number one. You must be leading to pound the rock. We think Blake Bortles will throw a pair of picks and the Colts will capitalize. All that means Robinson will not be deployed; rather, we smell a decoy.

Michael Floyd, WR, Arizona Cardinals @ SEA: For those of you encouraged by Floyd’s two-TD performance on Sunday, we must remind you that those were his only two catches and he only has two other TDs on the season. Even when Floyd broke out last season he only scored five times. Now with the Seahawks on deck and ready to avenge their home loss to the Cards last season, we can’t see him beating any Legion of Boom members for a score or more than two receptions.

Now it’s your turn. Let us know in the comments below who you plan to start and sit in Week 12.
