The Wire Troll: Mario Chalmers Starting For Memphis

Yes, Simmonds hurt his quad and may not play Saturday, but it’s hard to overlook the 14 shots he put up in just 24 minutes on Friday. If he can get to the line a bit more often, it feels like he’s on the cusp of a breakout. Simmonds’s touches are down this month, so that’s why Friday’s effort buoyed our hopes. The Wire Troll: Mario Chalmers Growling in Grizzlyland

The Grizzlies acquired Super Mario Tuesday in a trade with the Heat. Since his debut in Memphis, that’s exactly what he’s been – superb. In just 21 minutes per game over the last three contests, Chalmers has scored double digits, including a 29-point performance Tuesday against the Thunder. We repeat — against the Thunder. He clearly didn’t fear Oklahoma’s defensive roar as he attacked the paint and received 15 free throw attempts (canning 13). The fact that Bulls won the game that McBuckets started bodes well for more. Grab him now.

If you’re in keeper league, this is an urgent alert to get McCollum on your team. He was the star of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas after being the 10th overall pick by Portand last year. Unfortunately for McCollum, he suffered a broken foot and missed the first 36 games of his career. Now that he’s finding his legs and the nuances of the NBA, he’s putting up decent Fantasy numbers as of late. Playing time will likely hinder McCollum from being a major factor the remainder of the way but watch out in future seasons.
