This week, we’ve got some good news, some bad news, and even some neutral news. Read all about it and more in this week’s edition of Hockey Hospital.

Mark Scheifele, C, Winnipeg Jets: After sustaining a concussion during practice, Scheifele will be out indefinitely. The good news is he’ll travel with the team on their upcoming five-game road trip.

With Scheifele (who knows how to play with the puck — see video below) out of the lineup, the Jets elected to move Andrew Ladd to the second line and bump up Drew Stafford to the first line with Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler. Ladd shouldn’t be too affected by Scheifele’s absence because he still holds a spot on the top power play unit. Instead, Stafford is likely to benefit and could see a modest uptick in production from playing with Little and Wheeler.

Tyler Johnson, C, Tampa Bay Lightning: Johnson was able to return to the lineup on Monday.

Johnson’s return should help bolster the Lightning’s top six but it also pushes Jonathan Marchessault back into the bottom six. With Johnson out, Marchessault had three goals and four assists in the previous six games and saw a nice increase in ice time. With Johnson back in the fold, we wouldn’t expect too much more out of Marchessault for the time being.

David Krejci, C, Boston Bruins: Krejci is considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

His injury creates a hole in the Bruins’ top six that is likely to be filled by Ryan Spooner. Ever since Spooner was called up from the AHL last season, he has been performing very well and should benefit from playing with Krejci’s usual linemates if he’s given the chance.

Jeff Carter, C, Los Angeles Kings: Carter is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. It hasn’t stopped the Kings from rolling over their Pacific rivals this week.

Kris Letang, D, Pittsburgh Penguins: Letang is doing better and looks like he’s close to returning to action soon. This is some much-needed good news for the Penguins considering their recent struggles and injuries to other key players such as Marc-Andre Fleury.

Cam Fowler, D, Anaheim Ducks: Fowler has been placed on injured reserve with a sprained knee.

With their best defenceman out of the lineup for a good amount of time, the Ducks recalled one of their top prospects, Shea Theodore. While we doubt Theodore scores by the bunches, he should take over some of Fowler’s minutes. Theodore has a lot of potential and the former first round pick was a key cog in Canada’s gold medal winning squad at the 2015 WJC.

Michael Del Zotto, D, Philadelphia Flyers: Del Zotto is day-to-day with a left wrist injury. He missed the game Wednesday against the Sharks.

Jaroslav Halak, G, New York Islanders: Halak is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and has been put on the injured reserve. It doesn’t sound serious but expect Thomas Greiss to handle the workload until Halak returns.

Ryan Miller, G, Vancouver Canucks: Miller (undisclosed) is expected to return to action in a week. Even though he’s the Canucks’ starting goalie, his return may not be enough for Vancouver to maintain its playoff position (wow, that Pacific division is garbage).

Robin Lehner, G, Buffalo Sabres: Lehner is close to 100 per cent and was able to practice on Tuesday.

This is great news for his owners. It seems that Lehner, who has struggled to establish himself as a pro, is almost ready to start playing again and when that happens, the Sabres will have to make a decision about which two goalies they want to keep. The most likely scenario is that Chad Johnson stays as the backup and Linus Ullmark will be sent down to the AHL. Johnson has been getting most of the starts recently and he has maintained a better save percentage while Lehner’s been out of action.

Reto Berra, G, Colorado Avalanche: Berra (ankle) is expected to miss at least one more week. Calvin Pickard will take control of the backup duties while Berra’s out.

Now it’s your turn. Let us know in the comments below what Fantasy hockey injuries you’re dealing with and how you’re coping.
