Podcast: Carlos Carrasco Bounces Back

April 24, 2015 | by RotoRob | Comments Comments Off on Podcast: Carlos Carrasco Bounces Back
Joe Nathan requires surgery for the Detroit Tigers.
Is this the end of the line for Joe Nathan? (USATSI)

RotoRob Fantasy Baseball Weekly Podcast — heard every Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on Blogtalkradio — was back in action as RotoRob was again joined by Tim McLeod of Pattonandco.com. The good news was we enjoyed a technical glitch-free show for once, so it was nothing but pure Fantasy baseball talk without the griping about BTR!

Among the topics we passed judgment on:

  • Carlos Carrasco was pulled from his last start because of stiffness, but it’s not a issue of concern.
  • Tim will soon be asking for weather forecasts from us.
  • A word from our sponsor, SideLeague.
  • Since 2012, Giancarlo Stanton — by himself — has as many or more 450-foot or longer dingers than three teams have hit in total.
  • We were impressed by Masahiro Tanaka shutting down a powerful Detroit lineup.
  • What’s wrong with Julio Teheran?
  • Vanderbilt players will figure prominently in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft.
  • We try to calculate how hard it would be to match Casey Stengel’s feat of winning 3,000 games as a manager.
  • Will we see Blake Swihart at some point in the second half?

The Wire Troll: Brian Roberts Finally Healthy

August 25, 2013 | by Tim McLeod | Comments (0)
It seems we can finally use the words “healthy” and “Brian Roberts” in the same sentence. It has been a long time coming. In his past seven starts, Roberts has driven in eight runs, capped off by a grand slam Friday against the A’s. Finding help in those counting categories out of the middle-infield is never an easy task and Roberts should provide just that heading into September.
