Welcome back to another week of Fantasy hockey.

This week, Zdeno Chara spoke out against the NHL-Olympics standstill; Columbus has clinched its first playoff spot since 2014; and Chicago has also punched its postseason ticket — for the ninth straight season.

Here are some Fantasy hockey waiver wire players to consider…

Michael Frolik, RW, Calgary Flames (ESPN: 28 per cent; CBS: 42 per cent): Frolik is producing so far in March, putting up seven points (three goals, four assists) while his style of play has helped Calgary make a late run up the Pacific Division standings and towards the postseason. He has put up points in five of the last seven games — all victories — which included a two-assist, +2 game against Montreal. In the next game, Frolik scored a power play goal (see video below) and an assist against his former team (Winnipeg) and then added a goal and went +3 against Dallas. Frolik averages about 2-to-4 shots and his ice time is around 19 minutes per game.

Tyler Bozak, C, Toronto Maple Leafs (ESPN: 36 per cent; CBS: 37 per cent): Bozak is another player that has has stepped up his game this month. He’s a streaky player in terms of +/-, going +2 in some games and then -4 in others, but he’s put up eight points in March, highlighted by a two-assist night against Detroit, and a goal and an assist in a victory over Philadelphia. Bozak does not shoot the puck much, but does average about 16 minutes of ice time.

Elias Lindholm, C, Carolina Hurricanes (ESPN: 12 per cent; CBS: 24 per cent): Lindholm has points in six consecutive games, mostly by assists, but he did have a big game in a road victory over the Islanders, picking up a point and going +2. In the Hurricanes latest game — a big win over Nashville — the youngster scored a shorthanded goal. Lindholm averages about three shots and his ice time is still about 16 minutes per game.

Tomas Tatar, LW, Detroit Red Wings (ESPN: 31 per cent; CBS: 37 per cent): Even though Detroit will not make the playoffs this season, Tatar has not stopped playing. He has scored 10 points (six goals, four assists) this month, highlighted by game winning goals against Chicago and Colorado, and a power play goal and an assist against Arizona. If you are looking for some goals down the stretch, give Tatar a look as he has 20 with a month to go in the season.

Michael Matheson, D, Florida Panthers (ESPN: 3.1 per cent; CBS: 18 per cent): Chasing PT studs? Try Matheson, who hasn’t played less than 22:58 over the last five games, as his average ice time has risen with Aaron Ekblad (concussion) out. Matheson is yet another of the rookie blueliners this season that is racking up the ice time, but he doesn’t offer much in the way of scoring, although he did pick up his 10th assist of the season on Tuesday to go along with five goals. He’s also contributed over 100 blocks and over 60 hits to round out his Fantasy offerings.

Now it’s your turn. Let us know in the comments below who your favourite Fantasy hockey waiver wire pick of the week is.
