The Fantasy Baseball Guide 2007 Professional Edition

If you haven’t yet picked up The Fantasy Baseball Guide, 2007 Professional Edition, you better get off your ass and head down to the magazine store. Edited by Peter Kruetzer, aka Rotoman, TFBG is now in its eighth year, the last three of which have been graced by the presence of RotoRob.

The pub includes over 1,500 player profiles; picks and pans; top rookie predictions; a mock draft; and strategy essays, among other things. Last year, I managed to make some savvy picks including pegging the breakout of Gary Matthews Jr. and the demise of Jason Marquis. Want to see my predictions for the 2007 season? Pick up the Guide and check them out.

My contribution this season consisted of acting as the Contributing Editor, writing a whack of hitter profiles, making my picks and pans and identifying my rookie picks. You’ll also find a groovy ad that Tim did for us on the inside front cover!

One caveat about the pub: It seems some gremlins crawled into works and screwed with the header chart for second basemen, turning the clock back to 2006 when Alfonso Soriano still qualified and ruled the roost at the keystone corner. This situation has been rectified on Rotoman’s site, with the proper listing for 2007 second basemen here.

So, go ahead and pick up The Fantasy Baseball Guide, 2007 Professional Edition. It’s a fantastic pub — well written and witty at once, but always informative. Don’t you dare head to the draft table without a copy.
